Sermon for Gaza
Sunday, 28 April 2024 — Chris Hedges
This is a sermon I gave Sunday April 28 at a service held at the encampment for Gaza at Princeton University. The service was organized by students from Princeton Theological Seminary.
In the conflicts I covered as a reporter in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and the Balkans, I encountered singular individuals of varying creeds, religions, races and nationalities who majestically rose up to defy the oppressor on behalf of the oppressed. Some of them are dead. Some of them are forgotten. Most of them are unknown.

Notes From The Edge Of The Narrative Matrix

❖
Kids are taking over university campuses around the world for the noblest possible reason anyone could do such a thing in 2024. There are so many reasons to feel pessimistic, but Gen Z’s fierce opposition to the Gaza genocide is a massive reason to have hope for the future.
F*ck the Parliamentary Vote! Build a Worker-Based Anti-War Movement!

As activists in Canada recently learned, mass protest cannot compel a government to reject war. Why is this so, and what is the alternative?

Gaza’s new and terrifying reality

There’s a common joke in Gaza these days. It suggests that the most humane Israeli is the minister who effectively called for a nuclear bomb to be dropped on us during the early stages of the current war.
Let’s demand the impossible

The Rwanda Deportation sham continues to dominate British politics causing relentless trauma.
This comes at a time when we’ve been told that there is no money left for anything; after the previous short-lived administration crashed the economy, at a time when school meals were cut, people are dying in cold homes, when it has been impossible to find a home, our waters are polluted by water companies, when millions of people rely on food banks, the list goes on.

Dear friends,
Greetings from the desk of Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research.
Fifty years ago, on 25 April 1974, the people of Portugal took to the streets of their cities and towns in enormous numbers to overthrow the fascist dictatorship of the Estado Novo (‘New State’), formally established in 1926. Fascist Portugal – led first by António de Oliveira Salazar until 1968 and then by Marcelo Caetano – was welcomed into the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) in 1949, the United Nations in 1955, and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development in 1961 and signed a pact with the European Economic Community in 1972. The United States and Europe worked closely with the Salazar and Caetano governments, turning a blind eye to their atrocities.

Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza has now passed 200 days, with no end in sight. Despite suffering and horror beyond description, the resistance on the ground remains determined and strong – denying Israel any strategic achievement.

The ‘Isfahan Incident’: A Nail in Israel’s Coffin
Tuesday, 23 April 2024 —
Tel Aviv’s underwhelming military counter to Iran’s 13 April military strike has destroyed decades of Israel’s carefully cultivated deterrence posture.
Iran’s Operation True Promise strikes on 13 April have reopened the deep wounds Israel incurred during Hamas’ 7 October attack. While Operation Al-Aqsa Flood shook the occupation state’s security bubble at its core, a single night of Iranian rockets and drones left Israelis str[u]ggling to hold on to even a sliver of their famed deterrence posture.

Pearls and Irritations
Since 1948, Israel has invoked the Holocaust to justify the forced expulsion of Arabs from Palestine to create a Jewish state, but the systematic blueprint for ethnic cleansing was being drawn up years earlier by a Zionist zealot named Yosef Weitz.
Cancer concerns
Wednesday, 24 April 2024 — HART
Why are people worried about cancer risk from covid vaccines?
The covid vaccines skipped safety testing for cancer risk. Pfizer said genotoxicity, carcinogenicity and biodistribution studies were “not considered necessary.” Even while their trial info sheet said “Due to the urgent need for a vaccine against Covid-19, with agreement from the MHRA, some of the tests usually required for a newly manufactured vaccine have been modified, in order to make the vaccine available more quickly for assessment.”

What authority would scare and shame an already frightened population?
Tuesday, 23 April 2024 — HART
Answer: The UK Government & their behavioural science advisors
In the knowledge that people are already in a state of heightened anxiety, what government would choose to further frighten and shame them? When citizens have amended their lifestyles in order to function under difficult circumstances, what government would seek to actively disrupt these necessary and understandable adaptations? And what government believes that a fearful population during a ‘pandemic’ is not acceptable, and opts to instil panic instead? A recently published paper by HART member, Dr Gary Sidley, has revealed that such a regime is our very own UK Government, aided and abetted by their advisors and behavioural science experts.

Dear friends,
Greetings from the desk of Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research.
We live in dishonest times, where certainties have crumbled, and malevolence stalks the landscape. There is Gaza, of course. Gaza above all else is on our minds. Over 33,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel since 7 October, with more than 7,000 people missing (5,000 of them children). The Israeli government has brutally disregarded the global public opinion mounted against them. Billions of people are outraged by the stark fact of their violence and yet we are unable to force a ceasefire from an army that has decided to raze an entire people. Global North governments speak from two sides of their mouths: clichéd phrases of concern to ameliorate their own disheartened populations, and then vetoes at the United Nations and arms transfers to the Israeli army. It is this two-faced behaviour that bolsters the confidence of people like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and enables their impunity.

IDF murder Palestinian woman 2 decades older than Israel
Monday, 22 April 2024 — MintPress News
Israeli occupation forces killed a Palestinian woman in Gaza, who was two decades older than Israel.
Naifa Rizq al-Sawada, born in Gaza in 1932, nearly two decades before the inception of the occupying state, was the only daughter who witnessed both the first intifada in 1987 and the second intifada in 1993.
The old lady was killed by Israeli forces alone in the same house where she had lived since 1955.
