Creative-i is the sister site of InI or Investigating New Imperialism as it used to be called, which I have been publishing since 2002 (and it’s a continuation of my first online publishing ‘adventure’, New York On-Line, 1983-1992). In many ways InI has been a resounding success, and has acquired a reputation as an important resource racking upwards of 250,000 pages accessed a week. But InI is ‘hand-built’ and has grown so big that managing it has become a real chore that interferes with my writing.
The original idea was to switch over to Creative-i completely and just keep InI as an archive, but it’s turned out that there is a natural symbiosis between both sites. InI now publishes ‘aggregations’ eg, Information Clearing House or GI Special and press releases or topical information like the Newslinks Archives such as the newly added Honduras Newslinks. ICH for example goes all the way back to 2003 and is pretty complete. Gi Special has almost every edition online in Web or PDF format. So now I’ve got two rods with which to beat myself.
Creative-i publishes almost exclusively essays, analysis and videos (some news items to crop up now and again, especially if it’s relevent to another piece, and of course my own work).
Both sites are in sync with each other, so now most of the content of both sites is accessible from either site via pages or search engines that search either/or both sites.
I welcome writers to submit content on any and all subjects the only proviso being that they should have a progressive POV.
